Our Programs

Women or families who need help can access one or more of the following services at any point in their journey. Every woman we meet faces a personal journey that is unique and challenging in its own way. These programs and services highlight our aspirations and mission to be a support system for women, regardless of what path they take on their journey to resiliency.
Workshops and Clinics
We offer a range of workshops and clinics to help women and girls understand their rights, options and remedies. If you have workshop idea, contact us at 604-589-1868 or giving@surreywomenscentre.ca to explore volunteer opportunities.
S.M.A.R.T Van Outreach

S.M.A.R.T Van Outreach

The Surrey Mobile Assault Response Team responds within minutes of an assault and operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The team provides comprehensive crisis response: safe transportation; urgent medical care, collection of evidence; filing of the police report; a comfort package; relocation to a safe place.
S.M.A.R.T Medical Support

S.M.A.R.T Medical Support

Survivors of assault are immediately accompanied to the hospital to ensure they are supported through the process of treatment and forensics. A SMART team member offers compassionate comfort through the examination process, and then assists women afterwards with subsequent legal procedures.
Dignity Counselling

Dignity Counselling

Dignity Counselling Services is our private counselling program, where our counsellors work from a trauma-informed, harm reduction & anti-oppressive feminist framework.
Legal Counselling

Legal Counselling

We connect women with the legal and justice community to safeguard that no survivor of gender-based violence falls through the cracks of the system. Police are involved either at the scene, or at the hospital, and a team member is available to help with the police reports. The Court Support Team assists in explaining a survivor’s legal rights and helps them navigate the criminal justice system with free legal information, orientation, and moral support at court proceedings.
Trauma Counselling

Trauma Counselling

The ultimate goal of SWC is to assist women leaving a life of violence and fear behind to begin anew. One-to-one and group counseling is available for women who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or childhood abuse. Feelings of isolation are common, and by sharing stories with other survivors in a safe haven, women feel less alone in their experience. Women are free to access emotional support services at any stage of their healing process.
Sharing Closet

Sharing Closet

We provide a process for empowering survivors and their families by ensuring they have access to their everyday needs. Women sometimes show up at the centre with little clothing. They have access to clothes, shoes, and toiletries, and we ensure they have a safe place to warm up with a cup of coffee or tea. If they need to make a phone call, or use the computer, they can drop in Monday to Friday.
Crisis Counselling

Crisis Counselling

We provide 24/7 support services through our crisis line, conduct risk assessments and help victims develop safety plans.
Embrace Clinic

Embrace Clinic

Surrey Women’s Centre works closely with Fraser Health’s Forensic Nursing Service and Embrace Clinic for medical and forensic care.
Jane Doe Legal Clinic

Jane Doe Legal Clinic

The Jane Doe Legal Clinic addresses a pressing need in our community – providing crucial legal support to survivors of gender-based violence.
